Well, I mentioned that this was gonna be a tech blog, and its time to blog the techy side of life. As many of you may not know, Google is sponsoring the new X-Prize. Called the Lunar X-Prize, ten official teams are racing to be the first to land a rover on the moon, have it move around, and take and send pictures and movies to earth and receive relayed commands from earth.
As I have been looking forward to this for a while, I am happy to say that I have found a team to support. Team Astrobotic. Made up of members of Carnagie-Mellon, a close friend of NASA's Jet Propulsion laboratory and the builder of the probes currently operating on Mars, and Raytheon, a major force in the Aerospace Industry. I believe they are gonna win, and suggest others support them as well.

Thank You DailyTech
Wow, do I have a lot of stuff to cover. I won't do it all at once, it isn't my style. But I sill be covering it all, day by day, until i catch up with the cooler heads.
Anywho, first up is a report that is circulating the blogosphere that started with the DailyTech. In a recent article, dated 2-26-08, a report was cited that showed that global temperatures dropped in the past year, "Wiping out a century of warming" to quote Michael Asher. All of this is based on temperature readings from monitors all across the globe, as well as from Antarctic sea ice reaching "Record Heights." This is big.
Though at first it was all anecdotal, all four of the Globe's Temperature tracking agencies, (Hadley, NASA's GISS, UAH, and RSS) have confirmed it. According to all four sources, it is the sharpest change ever recorded, mainly due to the lack of recording going from the Medieval Climate Optimum to the Little Ice Age. This is truly significant. a 0.65C drop in temperatures globally over twelve months. And I was sure that the warmies where up to something.
And look, it has been twenty years since the GW crowd emerged from the Ice Age crowd.
Look for calls of a coming Ice Age, and remember this moment when they swing back to the belief that the planet is warming in twenty years.
Too bad that the cold is so much more damaging to life as we know it than the heat.

International Confrence on Climate Change
Oh, how I wish I could be in New York on March 2nd , and that I could stay till the 4th. On those days, the International Conference on Climate Change shall be meeting at the Marriott New York Marquis Hotel.
These Scientists, Economists, and Public Policy Experts, hundreds in number, shall be gathering to call the bluff of Consensus. They shall form the first gathering of Heretics to challenge the IPCC.
For those who want more information on this, please go to www.GlobalWarming.org, the current home of the Cooler Heads Coalition.
For registration information, please go to http://www.heartland.org/NewYork08/registration.cfm
Sadly, it is $312 for a student to attend the conference. If there are any readers who are going, please let me know, I would love to get some information from inside the Confrence before its over. Also, please report this event to CNN, MSNBC, and FOX News, and try to get them to cover the event. A challenge to the IPCC is very cool.
More to come from the Coller Heads Coalition to come. Finally, something to do while the Warmies are quite.

College
Sorry for the lack of postings guys. College life gets in the way some times. That and the GW Cooks have been quiet recently. *glances around* They are up to something, not sure what, but there is something going on. Expect a major media blitz this summer. It doesn't help that this year had the highest snow fall since 1966... Wouldn't surprise me if it was the coldest summer in a long while.

You can't make this s**t up
Thank you Mr. Gore, that speech has given me something to talk about.
For those of you who don't know, the Goracle charged $6,000 a minute for a bad speech. This is a total of $180,000 for a 30 minuet speech. And according to some of the Goraclists who where there, it sucked. Well, what does this say about that speech.
Well, it would seem that they are realising that the Goracle is looking for some Personal gain here.

Why I love Earth Times
You know, when I first heard about EarthTimes.org, I thought that it would be another one of THOSE rags, you know the kind I mean, the ones that make Chic Tracts look like endorsements of the Catholic Church, or make the works of the Westboro Baptist Church look like an endorsement of the gay lifestyle. Boy, was I wrong!
And if you are wondering whether or not that makes me happy, I have one question for you. "Do a hog love slop?"
Anyways, recently, EarthTimes reported that "More than 500 scientists have published evidence refuting at least one element of current man-made global warming scares. More than 300 of the scientists found evidence that 1) a natural moderate 1,500-year climate cycle has produced more than a dozen global warmings similar to ours since the last Ice Age and/or that 2) our Modern Warming is linked strongly to variations in the sun's irradiance. "This data and the list of scientists make a mockery of recent claims that a scientific consensus blames humans as the primary cause of global temperature increases since 1850," said Hudson Institute Senior Fellow Dennis Avery."
Yeah, the Hudson Institute has come back to the rescue again.
Ouch, another big blow. Today is a regular Red Letter Day."Other researchers found evidence that 3) sea levels are failing to rise importantly; 4) that our storms and droughts are becoming fewer and milder with this warming as they did during previous global warmings; 5) that human deaths will be reduced with warming because cold kills twice as many people as heat; and 6) that corals, trees, birds, mammals, and butterflies are adapting well to the routine reality of changing climate."
Next, I will be featuring Alan Carube's "The Year The Global Warming Hoax Died."

John Coleman, My Hero
Well, once more the founder of an organization has come out and condemned his group for their actions concerning what I have come to call one of the greatest scams in Human History.
First, it was the founder of Greenpeace, now, the man who started The Weather Channel, John Coleman, has written a column calling it the world's largest scam. Wow, talk about a low blow, nice job Mr. Coleman.
Now, onto what he has said, much quoting to follow.
Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data back in the late 1990's to create an allusion of rapid global warming. Other scientists of the same environmental wacko type jumped into the circle to support and broaden the "research" to further enhance the totally slanted, bogus global warming claims. Their friends in government steered huge research grants their way to keep the movement going. Soon they claimed to be a consensus.Wow, nice shot there. I got to say, coming from someone with his experiences, I have trouble finding fault with the statements.
Environmental extremist, notable politicians among them then teamed up with movie, media and other liberal, environmentalist journalists to create this wild "scientific" scenario of the civilization threatening environmental consequences from Global Warming unless we adhere to their radical agenda.
Now their ridicules manipulated science has been accepted as fact and become a cornerstone issue for CNN, CBS, NBC, the Democratic Political Party, the Governor of California, school teachers and, in many cases, well informed but very gullible environmental conscientious citizens. Only one reporter at ABC has been allowed to counter the Global Warming frenzy with one 15 minutes documentary segment.
However, Global Warming, i.e. Climate Change, is not about environmentalism or politics. It is not a religion. It is not something you "believe in." It is science; the science of meteorology. This is my field of life-long expertise. And I am telling you Global Warming is a nonevent, a manufactured crisis and a total scam. I say this knowing you probably won't believe me, a mere TV weatherman, challenging a Nobel Prize, Academy Award and Emmy Award winning former Vice President of United States. So be it.Nice one, there. And the Goracle takes a hit in the knees!
Allow me, please, to explain how I think this all came about. Our universities have become somewhat isolated from the rest of us. There is a culture and attitudes and values and pressures on campus that are very different. I know this group well. My father and my older brother were both PHD-University types. I was raised in the university culture. Any person who spends a decade at a university obtaining a PHD in Meteorology and become a research scientist, more likely than not, becomes a part of that single minded culture. They all look askance at the rest of us, certain of their superiority. They respect government and disrespect business, particularly big business. They are environmentalists above all else.Again, I have been saying this for years. Its not a conspiracy, but a scam, perpetrated by people looking to get funding through alarmist rhetoric.
And, there is something else. These scientists know that if they do research and results are in no way alarming, their research will gather dust on the shelf and their research careers will languish. But if they do research that sounds alarms, they will become well known and respected and receive scholarly awards and, very importantly, more research dollars will come flooding their way.
So when these researchers did climate change studies in the late 90's they were eager to produce findings that would be important and be widely noticed and trigger more research funding. It was easy for them to manipulate the data to come up with the results they wanted to make headlines and at the same time drive their environmental agendas. Then their like minded PHD colleagues reviewed their work and hastened to endorse it without question.
There were a few who didn't fit the mold. They did ask questions and raised objections. They did research with contradictory results. The environmental elitists berated them brushed their studies aside.
I have learned since the Ice Age is coming scare in the 1970's to always be a skeptic about research. In the case of global warming, I didn't accept media accounts. Instead I read dozens of the scientific papers. I have talked with numerous scientists. I have studied. I have thought about it. I know I am correct when I assure you there is no run away climate change. The impact of humans on climate is not catastrophic. Our planet is not in peril. It is all a scam, the result of bad science.Heh, the Ice Age scare, that was a big laugh, almost makes me wish I could have been there to see it, and not have been born at the close of the 80's, a child of the new wave of alarmism.
I am not alone in this assessment. There are hundreds of other meteorologists, many of them PH D's, who are as certain as I am that this global warming frenzy is based on bad science and is not valid.
I am incensed by the incredible media glamour, the politically correct silliness and rude dismal of counter arguments by the high priest of Global Warming.
In time, a decade or two, the outrageous scam will be obvious. As the temperature rises, polar ice cap melting, coastal flooding and super storm pattern all fail to occur as predicted everyone will come to realize we have been duped.
The sky is not falling. And, natural cycles and drifts in climate are as much if not more responsible for any climate changes underway.
I strongly believe that the next twenty years are equally as likely to see a cooling trend as they are to see a warming trend.
